She was born in a family with ten siblings, eight brothers and two sisters. Jackie was the only one of her sisters to attend school, until when she was 17, as her parents prioritized paying for her brothers education and could no longer afford her school fees. Prior to working for Mazuri, she sold goods beside the road, barely making enough money to put food on the table for her four children. As a single mother, she works extremely hard to put her two boys and two girls through school. She hopes they will all be able to attend university one day.
